Today's Gospel November 20, 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the book of the Apocalypse of Saint John the Apostle
Rev 10,8: 11-XNUMX

I, John, heard a voice from heaven saying: "Go, take the open book from the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the earth".

Then I approached the angel and begged him to give me the little book. And he said to me: 'Take it and devour it; it will fill your bowels with bitterness, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey ».

I took that little book from the hand of the angel and devoured it; in my mouth I felt it as sweet as honey, but as I had swallowed it I felt all the bitterness in my bowels. Then I was told: "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues and kings."

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Luke
Lc 19,45-48

At that time, Jesus entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling, saying to them: "It is written:" My house will be a house of prayer. " But you have made it a den of thieves ».

He taught in the temple every day. The chief priests and scribes tried to kill him and so did the chiefs of the people; but they did not know what to do, because all the people hung on his lips listening to him.

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
“Jesus drives out of the Temple not the priests, the scribes; chase away these businessmen, the Temple businessmen. The gospel is very strong. It says: 'The chief priests and the scribes tried to put Jesus to death and so did the chiefs of the people.' 'But they did not know what to do because all the people hung on his lips listening to him.' The strength of Jesus was his word, his testimony, his love. And where Jesus is, there is no place for worldliness, there is no place for corruption! (Santa Marta 20 November 2015)
