Today's Gospel November 22, 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
First Reading

From the book of the prophet Ezekiel
Ez 34,11: 12.15-17-XNUMX

Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I myself will seek out my sheep and go through them. As a shepherd surveys his flock when he is in the midst of his sheep that had been scattered, so I will survey my sheep and gather them from all places where they were scattered on cloudy and hazy days. I myself will lead my sheep to pasture and I will rest them. Oracle of the Lord God. I will go in search of the lost sheep and I will bring the lost one back to the fold, I will band up that wound and I will heal the sick one, I will take care of the fat and the strong; I will feed them with justice.
To you, my flock, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will judge between sheep and sheep, between rams and goats.

Second reading

From the first letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Corìnzi
1Cor 15,20-26.2

Brothers, Christ has risen from the dead, the first fruits of those who have died.
Because if death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead will also come through a man. For just as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will receive life. But each in his place: first Christ, who is the first fruits; then, at his coming, those who are Christ's. Then it will be the end, when he will hand over the kingdom to God the Father, after having reduced every Principality and every Power and Force to nothing.
Indeed, it is necessary that he reign until he has placed all enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be annihilated will be death.
And when everything has been subjected to him, he too, the Son, will be subjected to the One who subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Matthew
Mt 25,31-46

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on the throne of his glory.
All peoples will be gathered before him. He will separate one from the other, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
Then the king will say to those on his right: Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world, because I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you have me. given to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you dressed me, sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to see me.
Then the righteous will answer him, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When have we ever seen you as a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and dressed you? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to visit you ?.
And the king will answer them, Truly I say to you, whatever you did to one of these least of my brothers, you did it to me.
Then he will also say to those on the left: Away, away from me, cursed ones, into the eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels, because I was hungry and you did not feed me, I was thirsty and I did not you gave me a drink, I was a stranger and you didn't welcome me, naked and you didn't dress me, sick and in prison and you didn't visit me. Then they too will answer: Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and we didn't serve you? Then he will answer them, Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do to one of the least of these, you did not do to me.
And they will go: these to eternal torture, the righteous instead to eternal life ».

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
I remember that as a child, when I went to catechism we were taught four things: death, judgment, hell or glory. After the judgment there is this possibility. 'But, Father, this is to scare us…'. - 'No, it's the truth! Because if you do not care for the heart, so that the Lord may be with you and you live away from the Lord always, perhaps there is the danger, the danger of continuing so far away from the Lord for eternity '. This is very bad! ”. (Santa Marta 22 November 2016
