Today's Gospel October 22, 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians
Eph 3,14: 21-XNUMX

Brothers, I bend my knees before the Father, from whom all descendants in heaven and on earth originate, so that he may grant you, according to the richness of his glory, to be powerfully strengthened in the interior man by his Spirit.
May Christ dwell in your hearts through faith, and thus, rooted and grounded in charity, may you be able to understand with all the saints what is the breadth, length, height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses all knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

To him who in everything has the power to do much more than we can ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to him be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus for all generations, forever and ever! Amen.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Luke
Lc 12,49-53

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:

“I came to set fire to the earth, and how I wish it were already lit! I have a baptism in which I will be baptized, and how distressed I am until it is completed!

Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I tell you, but division. From now on, if there are five people in a family, they will be divided three against two and two against three; father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law will divide ”.

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
Change the way you think, change the way you feel. Your heart which was worldly, pagan, now becomes Christian with the strength of Christ: change, this is conversion. And change in the way you act: your works must change. And I have to do mine for the Holy Spirit to act and this means struggle, struggle! Difficulties in our life are not solved by watering down the truth. The truth is this, Jesus brought fire and struggle, what do I do? (Santa Marta, October 26, 2017
