Today's Gospel October 24, 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians
Eph 4,7: 16-XNUMX

Brothers, grace has been given to each of us according to the measure of Christ's gift. For this it is said:
"He ascended high, he took prisoners with him, he distributed gifts to men."
But what does it mean that he ascended, if not that he first came down here to earth? The one who descended is the same who also ascended above all the heavens, to be fullness of all things.
And he has given some to be apostles, others to be prophets, still others to be evangelists, others to be pastors and teachers, to prepare the brothers to carry out the ministry, in order to build the body of Christ, until we all arrive at the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, up to the perfect man, until we reach the measure of the fullness of Christ.
Thus we will no longer be children at the mercy of the waves, carried here and there by any wind of doctrine, deceived by men with that cunning that leads to error. On the contrary, acting according to truth in charity, we try to grow in everything by reaching out to him, who is the head, Christ.
From him the whole body, well organized and connected, with the collaboration of each joint, according to the energy of each member, grows in such a way as to edify itself in charity.

From the Gospel according to Luke
Lc 13,1-9

At that time, some came to tell Jesus about those Galileans whose blood Pilate had made to flow along with that of their sacrifices.
Taking the floor, Jesus said to them: «Do you think that those Galileans were more sinners than all the Galileans, for having suffered such a fate? No, I tell you, but if you are not converted, you will all perish in the same way.
Or those eighteen people, upon whom the tower of Yealoe collapsed and killed them, do you think they were more guilty than all the inhabitants of Jerusalem? No, I tell you, but if you are not converted, you will all perish in the same way ».

This parable also said: «Someone had planted a fig tree in his vineyard and came looking for fruit, but he did not find any. Then he said to the vintner: “Here, I have been looking for fruits on this tree for three years, but I can't find any. So cut it out! Why must he use the land? ". But he replied: "Master, leave him again this year, until I have hoed around him and put manure. We will see if it will bear fruit for the future; if not, you will cut it "".

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
The invincible patience of Jesus, and his irreducible concern for sinners, how they should provoke us to impatience with ourselves! It is never too late to convert, never! (Angelus, February 28, 2016
