Today's Gospel October 27, 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians
Eph 5,21: 33-XNUMX

Brothers, in the fear of Christ, be submissive to one another: wives be to their husbands, as to the Lord; in fact the husband is the head of his wife, just as Christ is the head of the Church, he who is the savior of the body. And as the Church is subject to Christ, so too should wives be to their husbands in everything.

And you, husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the Church and gave himself for her, to make her holy, purifying her with the washing of water by the word, and to present to himself the all glorious Church. , without spot or wrinkle or anything like that, but holy and immaculate. Thus husbands also have the duty to love their wives as their own bodies: whoever loves his wife loves himself. In fact, no one has ever hated his own flesh, indeed he nourishes and cares for it, as Christ also does with the Church, since we are members of his body.
For this man will leave his father and mother and will unite with his wife and the two will become one flesh. This mystery is great: I say it with reference to Christ and the Church!
So also you: let each one for his part love his wife as himself, and the wife be respectful towards her husband.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Luke
Lc 13,18-21

At that time, Jesus said: “What is the kingdom of God like, and what can I compare it to? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and threw in his garden; it grew, became a tree and the birds of the sky came to make their nests in its branches. "

And he said again: "To what can I compare the kingdom of God?" It is similar to yeast, which a woman took and mixed in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened ».

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
Jesus compares the Kingdom of God to a mustard seed. It is a very small seed, yet it develops so much that it becomes the largest of all the plants in the garden: an unpredictable, surprising growth. It is not easy for us to enter into this logic of God's unpredictability and accept it in our life. But today the Lord exhorts us to an attitude of faith that goes beyond our plans. God is always the God of surprises. In our communities it is necessary to pay attention to the small and large opportunities for good that the Lord offers us, letting ourselves be involved in his dynamics of love, acceptance and mercy towards all.
