Today's Gospel October 29, 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians
Eph 6,10: 20-XNUMX

Brothers, strengthen yourselves in the Lord and in the strength of his power. Put on the armor of God to be able to resist the snares of the devil. Indeed, our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the Principalities and Powers, against the rulers of this dark world, against the evil spirits who live in the celestial regions.
So take the armor of God, so that you can endure in the bad day and stand firm after passing all the tests. Stand firm, therefore: around the hips, the truth; I am wearing the breastplate of justice; feet, shod and ready to spread the gospel of peace. Always grasp the shield of faith, with which you will be able to extinguish all the fiery arrows of the Evil One; take also the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
On every occasion, pray with all manner of prayers and supplications in the Spirit, and to this end watch with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. And pray for me too, so that when I open my mouth, the word will be given to me, to make known with frankness the mystery of the Gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, and so that I can announce it with that courage with which I must speak. .

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Luke
Lc 13,31-35

At that moment some Pharisees approached Jesus to say to him: "Leave and go away from here, because Herod wants to kill you".
He replied to them, “Go and tell that fox: 'Look! I cast out demons and heal today and tomorrow; and on the third day my work is done. But it is necessary that today, tomorrow and the following day I continue on my journey, because it is not possible for a prophet to die outside of Jerusalem ”.
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those who were sent to you: how many times have I wanted to gather your children, like a hen its chicks under its wings, and you did not want to! Behold, your home is abandoned to you! In fact, I tell you that you will not see me until the time comes when you say: "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" ».

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
Only a personal encounter with Jesus generates a journey of faith and discipleship. We could have many experiences, achieve many things, establish relationships with many people, but only the appointment with Jesus, in that hour that God knows, can give full meaning to our life and make our projects and initiatives fruitful. This means that we are called to overcome a habitual and predictable religiosity. Seeking Jesus, encountering Jesus, following Jesus: this is the path. (ANGELUS, Jan.14, 2018
