Today's Gospel 29 September 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the book of the prophet Daniel
Dn 7,9: 10.13-14-XNUMX

I kept looking,
when thrones were placed
and an old man sat down.
His robe was white as snow
and the hair on his head was as white as wool;
his throne was like flames of fire
with wheels like a burning fire.
A river of fire flowed
and went out before him,
a thousand thousands served him
and ten thousand myriads attended him.
The court sat down and the books were opened.

Still looking into the night visions,
here come with the clouds of heaven
one like a son of man;
he came to the old man and was presented to him.
He was given power, glory and kingdom;
all peoples, nations and languages served him:
his power is an eternal power,
that will never end,
and his kingdom will never be destroyed.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to John 1,47-51

At that time, Jesus, seeing Nathanael coming to meet him, said of him: "Truly an Israelite in whom there is no falsehood." Nathanael asked him: "How do you know me?" Jesus answered him, "Before Philip called you, I saw you when you were under the fig tree." Nathanael replied, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are the king of Israel!" Jesus answered him: «Because I told you that I had seen you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these! ».
Then he said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, you will see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man."
WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
Jesus is the Son of God: therefore he is perennially alive as his Father is eternally alive. This is the novelty that grace kindles in the heart of those who open themselves to the mystery of Jesus: the non-mathematical, but even stronger, interior certainty of having encountered the Source of Life, Life itself made flesh, visible and tangible in among us. A faith that Blessed Paul VI, when he was still Archbishop of Milan, expressed with this wonderful prayer: “O Christ, our only mediator, You are necessary for us: to live in Communion with God the Father; to become with you, who are the only Son and our Lord, his adopted children; to be regenerated in the Holy Spirit "(Pastoral Letter, 1955).
