Today's Gospel December 4, 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the book of the prophet Isaìa
Is 29,17-24

Thus says the Lord God:
"Sure, a little more
and Lebanon will change into an orchard
and the orchard will be considered a forest.
On that day the deaf will hear the words of the book;
free yourself from darkness and darkness,
the eyes of the blind will see.
The humble will rejoice again in the Lord,
the poorest will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
Because the tyrant will no longer be, the arrogant will disappear,
those who plot iniquity will be eliminated,
those who make others guilty with the word,
how many at the door set traps for the judge
and spoil the righteous for nothing.

Therefore, the Lord says to the house of Jacob,
who redeemed Abraham:
"From now on Jacob will no longer have to blush,
her face will no longer pale,
for seeing his children the work of my hands among them,
they will sanctify my name,
they will sanctify the Holy One of Jacob
and they will fear the God of Israel.
Misguided spirits will learn wisdom,
those who murmur will learn the lesson ”».

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Matthew
Mt 9,27-31

At that time, as Jesus was leaving, two blind men followed him shouting: "Son of David, have mercy on us!"
When he entered the house, the blind men approached him and Jesus said to them, "Do you think I can do this?" They answered him, "Yes, O Lord!"
Then he touched their eyes and said, "Let it be done to you according to your faith." And their eyes were opened.
Then Jesus admonished them saying: "Take care that nobody knows!". But as soon as they left, they spread the news throughout that region.

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
We too have been "enlightened" by Christ in Baptism, and therefore we are called to behave as children of light. And behaving as children of light requires a radical change of mentality, an ability to judge men and things according to another scale of values, which comes from God. The sacrament of Baptism, in fact, requires the choice to live as children of light and walk in the light. If I now ask you, “Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God? Do you believe it can change your heart? Do you believe that He can show reality as He sees it, not as we see it? Do you believe that He is light, does He give us true light? " What would you reply? Everyone respond in his heart. (Angelus, March 26, 2017)
