Today's Gospel November 6, 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Philippites
Phil 3,17 - 4,1

Brothers, be my imitators together and see those who behave according to the example you have in us. Because many - I have already told you many times and now, with tears in their eyes, I repeat - behave as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their final fate will be perdition, the womb is their god. They brag about what they should be ashamed of and think only of the things of the earth. Our citizenship is in fact in heaven and from there we await the Lord Jesus Christ as savior, who will transfigure our miserable body to conform it to his glorious body, by virtue of the power he has to subject all things to himself.
Therefore, my dear and much desired brothers, my joy and my crown, remain firm in the Lord in this way, dear ones!

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Luke
Lc 16,1-8

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “A rich man had a steward, and he was accused before him of squandering his possessions. She called him and said, “What do I hear about you? Be aware of your administration, because you will no longer be able to administer ”.
The steward said to himself, “What am I going to do now that my master takes away my administration? Hoe, I don't have the strength; beg, I'm ashamed. I know what I will do so that, when I have been removed from the administration, there is someone to welcome me into his house ”.
One by one he called his master's debtors and said to the first: "How much do you owe my master?". He replied: "One hundred barrels of oil". He said to him, "Take your receipt, sit down immediately and write fifty."
Then he said to another: "How much do you owe?". He replied: "One hundred measures of grain." He said to him, "Take your receipt and write eighty."
The master praised the dishonest steward, for acting shrewdly.
The children of this world, in fact, towards their peers are more shrewd than the children of the light ».

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
We are called to respond to this worldly cunning with Christian cunning, which is a gift of the Holy Spirit. It is a question of moving away from the spirit and values of the world, which the devil likes so much, in order to live according to the Gospel. And worldliness, how does it manifest itself? Worldliness manifests itself with attitudes of corruption, deception, oppression, and constitutes the most wrong path, the path of sin, because one leads you to the other! It's like a chain, although - it's true - it's the easiest way to go, generally. Instead, the spirit of the gospel requires a serious lifestyle - serious but joyful, full of joy! -, serious and demanding, based on honesty, fairness, respect for others and their dignity, a sense of duty. And this is Christian cunning! (Pope Francis, Angelus of 18 December 2016
