Today's Gospel October 8, 2020 with the words of Pope Francis

READING OF THE DAY
From the letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Galati
Gal 3,1: 5-XNUMX

O foolish Gàlati, who has enchanted you? Just you, in whose eyes Jesus Christ crucified was represented alive!
This alone I would like to know from you: is it by the works of the Law that you have received the Spirit or by having heard the word of faith? Are you so unintelligent that after starting in the sign of the Spirit, you now want to finish in the sign of the flesh? Have you suffered so much in vain? If at least it were in vain!
So does he who grants you the Spirit and works portents in your midst, does it because of the works of the Law or because you have listened to the word of faith?

GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Luke
Lc 11,5-13

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:

"If one of you has a friend and at midnight goes to him to say:" Friend, lend me three loaves, because a friend has come to me from a journey and I have nothing to offer him ", and if that one answers him from the inside: "Don't bother me, the door is already closed, my children and I are in bed, I can't get up to give you the loaves", I tell you that, even if he won't get up to give them to him because he's his friend, at least because of his intrusiveness he will get up to give him as much as he needs.
Well, I tell you: ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you. Because whoever asks receives and whoever seeks finds and whoever knocks will be opened.
Which father among you, if his son asks him for a fish, will give him a snake instead of the fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he give him a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good things to your children, how much more will your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! ».

WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER
The Lord told us: “ask and it will be given to you”. Let us also take this word and have confidence, but always with faith and putting ourselves on the line. And this is the courage that Christian prayer has: if a prayer is not courageous it is not Christian. (Santa Marta, January 12, 2018
