Holy Gospel, prayer of March 1

Today's Gospel
From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 16,19-31.
At that time, Jesus said to the Pharisees: «There was a rich man, who dressed in purple and fine linen and feasted lavishly every day.
A beggar, named Lazarus, lay at his door, covered in sores,
eager to feed on what fell from the rich man's table. Even dogs came to lick his sores.
One day the poor man died and was brought by the angels into Abraham's womb. The rich man also died and was buried.
Being in hell amidst the torments, he raised his eyes and saw Abraham and Lazarus from afar beside him.
Then shouting he said: Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of your finger in the water and wet my tongue, because this flame tortures me.
But Abraham replied: Son, remember that you received your goods during life and Lazarus likewise his evils; but now he is consoled and you are in the midst of torments.
Moreover, a great abyss has been established between us and you: those who want to go from here cannot, nor can they cross over to us.
And he replied: So, father, please send him to my father's house,
because I have five brothers. Admonish them so that they do not come to this place of torment too.
But Abraham replied: They have Moses and the Prophets; listen to them.
And he: No, Father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.
Abraham replied: If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if one rises from the dead. »
