Holy Gospel, prayer of January 17st

Today's Gospel
From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 3,1-6.
At that time, Jesus entered the synagogue again. There was a man who had a dry hand,
and they watched him to see if he healed him on Saturday and then accused him.
He said to the man who had a withered hand: "Get in the middle!"
Then he asked them, "Is it lawful on Saturday to do good or evil, save a life or take it away?"
But they were silent. And looking around them with indignation, saddened by the hardness of their hearts, he said to that man: "Stretch out your hand!" He stretched it out and his hand was healed.
And the Pharisees immediately went out with the Herodians and took counsel against him to make him die.

Saint of today - SANT'ANTONIO ABATE
O glorious triumpher of the devil,
unarmed armed in various ways against you,
Sant'Antonio abate, continue the victorious work
yours on hell, conspiring against us.
From those fatal blows save our souls,
fortifying them in spiritual battles;
to our bodies impetrate constant health;
dilute every evil influence from the herds and fields;
and present life, your mercy quiet for us,
there be wise and an apparatus for perfect peace
of eternal life.
Amen
