Gospel, Saint, prayer of April 5th

Today's Gospel
From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 24,35-48.
At that time, returning from Emmaus, the two disciples reported what had happened along the way and how they had recognized Jesus in breaking the bread.
While they spoke of these things, Jesus himself appeared among them and said: "Peace be with you!".
Amazed and frightened they believed they saw a ghost.
But he said, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your heart?
Look at my hands and my feet: it's really me! Touch me and look; a ghost has no flesh and bones as you see I have. "
Saying this, he showed them his hands and feet.
But because for great joy they still didn't believe and were amazed, he said, "Do you have anything to eat here?"
They offered him a portion of roasted fish;
he took it and ate it in front of them.
Then he said: "These are the words I said to you when I was still with you: all things written about me in the Law of Moses, in the Prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled."
Then he opened their minds to the intelligence of the scriptures and said:
"So it is written: the Christ will have to suffer and rise from the dead on the third day
and in his name the conversion and forgiveness of sins will be preached to all nations, beginning with Jerusalem.
Of this you are witnesses.

Saint of today - SAN VINCENZO FERRER
O Glorious Apostle and Thaumaturge Saint Vincent Ferreri, true Angel of the Apocalypse and our powerful Protector, welcome our humble prayers and let the abundance of divine favors descend on us. For that love with which your heart blazed, obtain from the Father of mercies: first of all forgiveness of our many sins, then stability in faith and perseverance in good works, so that by living as fervent Christians, we are made more and more worthy of your patronage. Do your best to extend this patronage to our temporal interests too, preserving our bodily health, or healing us from diseases, blessing our countryside from hail and storms, keeping all injuries away from us; in order to have sufficient earthly aid, with a freer heart we await the search for eternal goods. Thus favored by you, we will be ever more devoted to you and we may one day come to love, praise and bless God with you in the heavenly homeland for all ages. So be it.

Ejaculatory of the day

Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who turn to you.
