Gospel, Saint, today's prayer 18 October

Today's Gospel
From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 10,1-9.
At that time, the Lord appointed seventy-two other disciples and sent them two by two ahead of him to every city and place where he was going to go.
He said to them: "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore pray to the master of the harvest to send out workers for his harvest.
Go: behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves;
don't carry a bag, a saddlebag, or sandals and don't say goodbye to anyone along the way.
Whichever house you enter, first say: Peace be to this house.
If there is a child of peace, your peace will come upon him, otherwise he will return to you.
Stay in that house, eating and drinking what they have, because the worker is worthy of his reward. Don't go from house to house.
When you enter a city and they will welcome you, eat what will be put before you,
heal the sick who are there, and say to them: The kingdom of God has come to you ».

Saint of today - Saint Luke the Evangelist
Glorious St. Luke who, to extend to the whole world until the end of the centuries, in the divine science of health, recorded in a special book not only the teachings and deeds of our Lord Jesus Christ, but also the most wonderful facts of his Apostles for the foundation of the Church; obtain for us all the grace to always conform our lives to those most holy documents which you have given to all peoples in your divine books through the particular impulse of the Holy Spirit, and under his dictation.

Glorious St. Luke, who for the virginity of which you constantly professed, you deserved to have a special familiarity with the queen of virgins, Mary Most Holy, who eruded you personally, not only in what regards her divine election as True Mother of God but still in all the mysteries of the Incarnation of the Word, of his first steps in the world, and of his private life; obtain for us all the grace to love us constantly the beautiful virtue of purity, to also deserve us those favors that the common advocate and our mother Mary always dispenses to the faithful imitators of her virtues.
3 Glory to the Father ...
