Gospel, Saint, today's prayer 20 October

Today's Gospel
From the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 12,1-7.
At that time, thousands of people gathered to such an extent that they trampled on each other, Jesus began to say first of all to his disciples: «Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
There is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known.
Therefore what you have said in darkness will be heard in full light; and what you have said in the ear in the innermost rooms will be announced on the roofs.
To you my friends, I say: Do not fear those who kill the body and afterwards they can do nothing more.
Instead, I will show you who to fear: fear the One who, after killing, has the power to throw into Gehenna. Yes, I tell you, fear this man.
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.
Even your hair is all counted. Fear not, you are worth more than many sparrows. "

Saint of today - SANTA MARIA BERTILLA BOSCARDIN
O most humble Santa Maria Bertilla,
chaste flower grown in the shadows of Calvary,
that you exhale the perfume of your virtues before God alone,
to comfort the suffering, we invoke you.

Oh, obtain from the Lord your humility and charity for which you liked him so much
and that flame of pure love that consumed you all.

Teach us to reap fruits of peace from perfect dedication to our duties,
to deserve, through your intercession, the grace we need
and the eternal reward in Heaven.
