He sees Jesus on the tree on the anniversary of his father's death

A Rhode Island resident is convinced that an image of Jesus appeared on a silver maple outside his home in North Providence. Brian Quirk was returning from visiting his father's grave on October 12 - the sixth anniversary of his death - when he noticed the image. While others may cross the 3-inch mark and forget about it, Quirk and his mother believe he looks like Jesus.

And while others may disagree, Quirk and his mom are happy to believe it. They see it particularly significant because the tree marks a special place for Quirk's father before his death. Quirk, who is recovering from open heart surgery, told The Valley Breeze: "Curiously, it's in the same area my dad used to sit outside in during his final months before he lost his battle with cancer." He described it as a "natural organic phenomenon for the faithful" and added that his devoted Catholic mother "finds comfort in knowing the image is there". "His ability to evoke a spiritual sense of awe is immeasurable," he said.
