Good Friday, Saturday, Easter night

Dear friend, I find myself writing this thought of mine on the night of Holy Saturday, one of the greatest days for Christians, the blessed night where Jesus rises again overcomes death and proclaims life. I also find myself writing in the period of the world pandemic. I don't remember a year of my life that I went home tonight without going to church to proclaim the feast of the resurrection with the Catholic community.

Yet dear friend the Churches are closed, the buildings are closed but the living Church, all Christians, rejoice tonight for the resurrection of their Lord Jesus. On this night where sleep has abandoned me and the vigil is getting stronger my thought goes to Jesus.

DEAR MY LORD YOU THAT WON THE DEATH AND YOU ARE THE ETERNAL LIFE LOOK EVERYONE OF US. WE NEED YOU, YOUR FORGIVENESS, YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, YOUR LOVE, YOUR DIVINITY IN OUR LIFE.

And then I realize that Jesus is close to me, that Jesus forgives me, that Jesus loves me, that Jesus is my God and I am sure that the thousands of the dead of the covid-19 are alive today, in Paradise to celebrate Easter heavenly. As Padre Pio said we see the reverse side of the embroidery but our weaver Jesus creates embroidery, paintings, unique and alone for his creatures.

What about yesterday, Good Friday? I immediately think of San Disma, the repentant thief. How many times at the end of the non-spiritual days my thoughts went to Jesus and I said to him "remember me when I come to your kingdom", the words that the good thief said to Jesus on the Cross. I as San Disma beg salvation from my Lord from above the Cross of my sin.

Dear friend, a shiver of joy assails me. Maybe we will never live an Easter like this again, maybe one day we will understand that among the many Pasques lived this will be the most touching one. We will all remember that strong desire in us to go to church, give us good wishes, embrace us, pray to Jesus.

Perhaps this strong desire saves us, purifies us and just like San Disma on the Cross that his desire for faith made him Holy so our desire for Jesus will give us Heaven.

Happy Easter my dear friend. Best wishes. In this Easter different from the others, I found a spiritual and salvific sense that I perhaps didn't know. I never imagined to approach my life to a repentant thief, I never imagined that this evangelical figure emerged in me so strongly. All of us have discovered the "desire of Jesus" that must never abandon us again.

I conclude dear friend with the words of Saint Paul “who will separate me from the love of Christ? The sword, hunger, nakedness, fear, persecution. No nobody can ever separate me from the love of my Lord Jesus ”.
