Praying with the Bible: verses on the comfort of God

There are so many Bible verses about the comfort of God that can help us remember that it is there in difficult times. We are often told to look to God when we suffer or when things seem so dark, but we don't all know how to do it naturally. The Bible has answers when it comes to reminding ourselves that God is always there to provide us with the warmth we desire. Here are some Bible verses on the comfort of God:

Deuteronomy 31
Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Eternal will personally precede you. He will be with you; will not disappoint you or abandon you. (NLT)

Job 14: 7-9
At least there is hope for a tree: if it is cut down, it will sprout again and its new sprouts will not fail. Its roots may age in the soil and its stump dies in the soil, but at the scent of the water it will sprout and produce sprouts like a plant. (NIV)

Psalm 9: 9
The Eternal is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in difficult times. (NIV)

Psalm 23: 3-4
It refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right roads for the sake of his name. Even if I walk through the darkest valley, I will not fear evil, because you are with me; your rod and your stick comfort me. (NIV)

Salmo 30: 11
You have turned my lament into dance; you took away my sack and dressed me with joy. (NIV)

Psalm 34: 17-20
The Lord listens to his people when they call for help. It saves them from all their problems. The Eternal is near the broken heart; save those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous one faces many problems, but the Lord comes to the rescue every time. For the LORD protects the bones of the righteous; none of them are broken! (NLT)

Salmo 34: 19
The righteous one faces many problems, but the Lord comes to the rescue every time. (NLT)

Salmo 55: 22
Throw your burden on the Lord and he will support you; it will never allow the righteous to be moved. (ESV)

Psalm 91: 5-6
You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that insinuates itself into darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. (NIV)

Isaiah 54:17
No weapon forged against you will prevail and refute any language that accuses you. This is the legacy of the servants of the Eternal, and this is their claim on my part, "declares the Eternal. (NIV)

Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is among you, a mighty one who will save; will rejoice in you with joy; he will appease you with his love; he will rejoice over you by singing out loud. (ESV)

Matthew 8: 16-17
That evening many people possessed by demons were brought to Jesus. He chased away evil spirits with a simple command and healed all the sick. This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said: "He took our diseases and removed our diseases" (NLT)

Come to me, all of you who work and are heavily loaded, and I will give you rest. (NKJV)

Hebrews 12: 1
Such a large crowd of witnesses surround us! So we have to get rid of everything that slows us down, especially the sin that won't let go. And we must be determined to run the race that awaits us. (CEV)

1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to believers who have died, so you will not afflict yourself as people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back the believers who died. We tell you directly from the Lord: we who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him before those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with an imposing cry, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet called by God. First, the Christians who died [c] will rise from their graves. So, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on earth will be captured in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words. (NLT)

Romans 6:23
Because the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NIV)

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace while you believe in him, so that you can overflow with hope with the power of the Holy Spirit. (NIV)
