Green light from the Vatican "Natuzza Evolo will soon be a saint"

Fortunata (nicknamed “Natuzza”) Evolo was born on 23 August 1924 in Paravati, a small town near Mileto, and remained in the municipality of Paravati for all her life. His father, Fortunato, emigrated to Argentina to look for work a few months before Natuzza's birth and unfortunately the family never saw him again. Natuzza's mother, Maria Angela Valente, was therefore forced to work to feed the family, and so at an early age Natuzza tried to help her mother and brothers and was therefore unable to go to school, and so it was that she never learned to read or write. And this fact actually constitutes an interesting addition to the phenomenon of stigmatic blood writing found in his life. In 1944 Natuzza married a carpenter named Pasquale Nicolace, and together they had five children.

On May 13, 1987, with the permission of Monsignor Domenico Cortese, Bishop of Mileto-Nicotera-Tropea, Natuzza felt inspired by heaven to form an association called "Foundation Immaculate Heart of Mary Refuge of Souls" ("Immaculate Heart of Mary, Refuge of Souls Foundation. "The Foundation was later formally approved by the Bishop The foundation currently houses a chapel where Natuzza's remains are kept. At the time of writing (2012), the construction of a church and center retreats are well under way as presumably requested by the Blessed Virgin Mary in Natuzza. Interested parties can consult the Foundation's website.

Mystical phenomenon  At the age of 14 in 1938, Natuzza was hired as a servant for the family of a lawyer named Silvio Colloca. It was here that his mystical experiences began to be noticed and documented by other people. The first incident was when Mrs. Colloca and Natuzza were walking in the countryside when Mrs. Colloca noticed blood coming from Natuzza's foot. Doctors Domenico and Giuseppe Naccari examined Natuzza and documented "significant blood transpiration in the upper region of the right foot, the cause of which is unknown". This incident at the age of 14 was the beginning of what would become a life of mystical phenomena including the stigmata or "wounds of Jesus" on his hands, feet, hips and shoulders, along with bloody sweats or "oozing", numerous visions of Jesus, Mary and the saints, along with countless visions of the dead (mainly souls in purgatory) and many reported cases of bilocation. Many of these mystical graces are documented in the aforementioned book "Natuzza di Paravati" by Valerio Martinelli.

The cause of canonization that started in 2014 has now been unlocked and visitors continue to arrive non-stop. The ospitalitareligiosa.it portal, which lists Catholic-inspired holiday homes and reception facilities, has detected a growth in requests to visit the places in Natuzza. They go to her grave to pray or to tell what distresses them, as they did when she was alive.
