Vicka of Medjugorje: I will tell you about the miracles of Our Lady

Janko: Vicka, doesn't it seem strange to you that he asked you so little about the miracles of Medjugorje?
Vicka: Really. I almost thought badly of you.
Janko: Tell me openly what you thought.
Vicka: No. I'm ashamed of it.
Janko: But say it freely! You know what you always tell me to do: "Don't be afraid!"
Vicka: I thought you don't believe these things at all.
Janko: Okay, Vicka. Do not be afraid; but you didn't guess. Here, I'll show you right away. I myself was an eyewitness to a sudden recovery, which took place on the occasion of the meeting of the charismatics of Canada, while publicly praying for healings, after the Holy Mass [the group was led by the well-known P. Tardif]. You know very well how very moving everything was. Leaving the sacristy, along the ladder, I almost trampled on a woman who was crying and exulting with joy. A few moments earlier, the Lord had miraculously cured her of a serious illness that she had treated for years, in the hospitals of Mostar and Zagreb. He also did the spa treatments. Vicka, are you bored?
Vicka: For heaven's sake, go ahead!
Janko: The woman had been suffering from "multiple sclerosis" for years, but above all she suffered from a lack of balance, so much so that she could not stand on her own. Even that evening her husband had carried her almost by weight. Since, due to the large crowd, they were unable to enter the church, they remained outside, in front of the sacristy door. And while the priest who led the prayer announced: "I feel that the Lord is currently healing a woman suffering from multiple sclerosis", the aforementioned lady, at that precise moment, felt like an electric shock throughout her body. At the same time, she felt able to stand on her own. So she told me immediately. Going down the steps I realized that something had happened to someone. As soon as she saw me, the lady ran towards me and repeated crying: "Fra Janko mio, I am healed!" A short time later she went alone to her car, which was more than a hundred meters away. As you can see, Vicka, I personally experienced these moments in Medjugorje too! I just went a little bit and probably bored you.
Vicka: Please! It was very interesting. Really.
Janko: I just want to add this: I have known that woman since I was a child. Many years ago I prepared it for Confirmation and First Communion. I later saw her, even after healing. A few days later I met her while alone, without anyone's help, she went up to Podbrdo, to the place of the first apparitions, to thank God and Our Lady for all that they did to her. I also saw her in the parish church, a few days ago, which moved as quickly as the others. Now tell me, Vicka, if I really bothered you.
Vicka: I already told you it was very interesting!
Janko: I want to express my personal belief about healings and miracles.
Vicka: I like it, so I don't always have to talk.
Janko: Okay. Although I know enough, as far as physical healings are concerned, I prefer to shut up. This is also because many times what has not been explained more clearly has been called a miracle. I also want to tell you this: for me the greatest miracle is when a sinner is converted, when in a moment he changes, so much so that from that moment he becomes an atheist, a friend of God and is ready, for this friendship with God, to bear all the trials and all the contempt of those with whom he waged war against God until the day before. Vicka, the leprosy of the soul is more difficult to heal than that of the body. And I am a witness to these healings. Excuse me now if I spoke as a "professor". In my opinion bodily healings have served for soul healings.
Vicka: Now I could tell you something, which I thought about many times later.
Janko: Tell me, please.
Vicka: For you, maybe it won't matter much, but for me it will.
Janko: Come on, talk. What is it about?
Vicka: It's about the conversion of an intellectual. A strange man! In our meeting he spoke to me two or three times about himself. He has combined all the colors. Something brought it to me and we talked. Long, long. One would say that he doesn't believe in anything; on the other hand, it seems so. I didn't know what to do with him anymore, but he didn't want to leave me. I prayed for him and advised him to go to some priest. I said to him, "Try it. Who knows. "
Janko: He probably didn't pay attention to you.
Vicka: No. But when I came to church in the evening, while people confessed outside, I saw him: he was kneeling right in front of you. I thought to myself: you just happened where you had to go!
Janko: And then what?
Vicka: I went further and again I prayed briefly for him.
Janko: Did it end like this?
Vicka: Not at all! He returned after three or four months to my house and he spontaneously told me that he has become another man, a true believer. This was a real miracle for me. How good and powerful God is!
Janko: Here, see how God does everything and heals. I am very happy that you told me this. It is a great joy when these events happen. Each of us priests, who we often come here to confess, live these experiences not only once, but many times. This was also the case in Jesus' time. He often combined the healing of the body with that of the soul. Many times, when he healed someone, he added: "Go and sin no more." It is the same Jesus who also heals today.
Vicka: Okay. I knew you would get away with it.
Janko: But from what?
Vicka: From my doubt, that you didn't believe in healings.
Janko: It was very easy because you had no reason to have that doubt. If you want to know this too, during the confessions I have heard many physical healings! I advised everyone to bring the documents and to go to the parish office, to warn of the healing, as a sign of thanks to the good God and Our Lady. This is fine. But there is another thing that interests me.
Vicka: What is it?
Janko: If Our Lady said in advance, sometimes, that someone would be healed.
Vicka: As far as I know, nobody said it. She always recommends firm faith, prayer and fasting. Then, what God will give.
Janko: And without these things? V - Nothing!
Janko: Okay, Vicka. But it seems strange to me what happened to little Daniele Setka. In this case, some of you, at the beginning, said that he will recover, without speaking of these conditions. I tell you according to what I heard from the tape recorder.
Vicka: But in the midst of that chaos, who could think of everything every time? The one who spoke, knew well that Our Lady told Daniel's parents that they must have living faith, pray and fast. Except that he didn't say everything out loud; it can only be explained in this way.
Janko: Okay. Hopefully it will. But once you told me, it occurs to me now, that Our Lady said that she will heal a young man and he has not put any conditions.
Vicka: Who did I tell you about then? Now I don't remember.
Janko: You told me about a young man who is without his left leg.
Vicka: And what did I tell you?
Janko: That Our Lady will heal him without any conditions, after the promised sign.
Vicka: If I told you this I told you the truth. Our Lady said that at that moment many will recover and with that young man she behaved in a particular way.
Janko: What do you mean by that?
Vicka: He came to the apparitions of the Madonna almost every day and the Madonna has shown that she loves him particularly.
Janko: How do you know?
Vicka: Here's how. On one occasion, just before Christmas in the first year, she showed us her sick leg. He removed the artificial, plastic part from his leg, and instead showed us the healthy leg.
Janko: Why this?
Vicka: I don't know. It may be that Our Lady meant that he will heal.
Janko: But did he feel something at that moment?
Vicka: Afterwards he told us that it seemed to him that someone was touching him on the head. Something like that.
Janko: Okay. But Our Lady did not say that he will heal!
Vicka: Go slowly; I have not finished yet. Two or three days later, young people came to us. We played and sang; among them was that boy too.
Janko: And then what?
Vicka: After a while the Madonna appeared to us, earlier than usual. Beside her was that boy, all wrapped up in a light. He didn't know, but he told us, immediately afterwards, that during the apparition he felt something, like an electric current passing through his leg.
Janko: Through which leg?
Vicka: The sick one.
Janko: And then what?
Vicka: I told you what I knew.
Janko: But you didn't tell me if the leg will heal or not!
Vicka: Our Lady said yes, but later.
Janko: When?
Vicka: After he gives us his sign, then he will heal completely. This he told us in mid-1982.
Janko: To whom did he say this: to you or to him?
Vicka: To us. And we reported it to him.
Janko: And did he believe you?
Vicka: Of course not! He had believed it even before, when Our Lady had shown it to us.
Janko: Can you remember when Our Lady promised this?
Vicka: No, but you can ask him; certainly knows.
Janko: All right, Vicka; but I won't look for it now.
Vicka: It would be easy to find it; he attends mass every evening and makes communion.
Janko: Okay. But does he still believe in this?
Vicka: Sure he believes it! He is now one of ours; you know this too.
Janko: Yes, I know, it's fine. Time will tell. Can you tell me if Our Lady said about someone in advance if she would be healed?
Vicka: Usually she doesn't say these things. I don't remember exactly, but I know he once said for a sick person that he will die soon.
Janko: In your opinion and according to Our Lady, is a firm faith, fasting, prayer and other good works necessary for healing?
Vicka: And then what God will give. There is no other way.
Janko: From whom does Our Lady demand these things: from the sick or from others?
Vicka: First of all from the sick person; and then by family members.
Janko: What if the sick person is so serious that he can't even pray?
Vicka: He can and must at least believe; in the meantime, family members must pray and fast as much as possible. So says Our Lady and so it is, my father. But now I'm interested in something else.
Janko: Let's hear it.
Vicka: Can you tell me, although it is not important, how many healings have been made known so far in Medjugorje?
Janko: For sure, I don't know. Until a few months ago there were more than 220. For now I am just telling you this. It may be that on some other occasion I will tell you more about it. Certainly there are still some that have not been reported.
Vicka: Of course. It is not important to report them. God and Our Lady know what they are doing.
Janko: Vicka, is my faith in healings clearer now?
Vicka: Yes. Let's move on.
