Vicka: I am in full obedience to the Church and Our Lady told me not to worry

On the day of the 34th anniversary of the apparitions of the Virgin, Queen of Peace, the plenary assembly of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith met six children in a very small and poor location in Bosnia on June 24, 1981. guidelines on the Medjugorje dossier. The final report, composed of the documentation collected to date, is now on the Pope's desk who will have to decide whether to accept the text and when to publish the decree.

According to the newspaper, the indications would concern the recognition of Medjugorje as a place of faith, prayer and devotion, but not its transformation into a sanctuary; the invitation to pilgrims to visit the place without having contact with the visionaries and therefore the prohibition to participate at the time of the apparitions that three out of six visionaries would receive every day. This - explain from the Sacred Palaces - to avoid that there are fanaticisms or exaltations of the figures of the visionaries. In fact, the faithful are invited to go on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje to pray, not to meet the visionaries. And above all, the final report prepared by the Vatican suggests not to consider the apparitions as "supernatural revelations". On this last point, the Holy See would respect what is established by the code of canon law, according to which the recognition of the apparitions cannot take place until these have ended. «I await with serenity and tranquility what the Pope's position will be - one of the visionaries, Vicka Ivankovic, one of the most present priests in Medjugorje and very close to the visionary, reports to the Journal - they are in full obedience to the Church and Madonna told me not to worry ".

Just today the annual message that the Virgin releases on June 25 of each year will be released, in memory of the day thirty-four years ago when - according to the visionaries - Our Lady addressed them for the first time. Meanwhile, millions of faithful are awaiting the judgment of the Pope who cannot fail to take into account the testimony of hundreds and hundreds of thousands of pilgrims who go to Medjugorje every year and return full of faith. On social networks, groups linked to the Marian apparitions are anxiously awaiting the Pope's announcement. "If he says no to Medjugorje there will be a revolt of the popular faith", many write.

Returning from his trip to Sarajevo on June 6, Bergoglio had mentioned the Medjugorje case, recalling the excellent work carried out by the Commission established by Benedict XVI and chaired by Cardinal Camillo Ruini and announcing that a decision would be made known soon. After a few days, in a homily in Santa Marta, Pope Francis had returned to speak of the apparitions, albeit without referring directly to the case of Medjugorje: «But where are the visionaries who tell us today the letter that Our Lady will send us at 4 am afternoon?". And that the Church was moving towards the ban on visionary gatherings of the visionaries had already understood when the diocese of Modena had canceled the meeting on June 20 in Sestola with Vicka. Now we are at the last act: the Pope's word will dissolve any reservations. And the journalist-writer Vittorio Messori warns: "If Pope Francis says no to Medjugorje, there is a risk of a schism".
