He would have liked to become a priest. Now it's a "martyr of the fatherland“: He saved three students from drowning by risking his life.

On 30 April, in Vietnam , there was a drama. Peter Nguyen Van Nha, a young 23-year-old Christian student, was on the seashore, a Thuan, when three of his companions were in trouble: they had been carried away by the sea.

Peter didn't think twice and went to their rescue, even putting his life in jeopardy.

Peter managed to bring his companions back to the beach, one by one and they are fine now but he died during the rescue due to a violent wave that took him away. He was unable to return to the coast and his body was found after a 30-minute search.

The friend Bui Ngoc Anh he said: “Peter Nha became the witness of the Good News and Christian charity through his heroic sacrifice”.

Thanks to his voluntary sacrifice, he is now a shining example that touches the hearts of many people. Agenzia Fides specified that the Vietnamese president, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, awarded the young man the posthumous recognition of a "Vietnamese martyr citizen". For the local Christian communities, Peter "gave his life for his friends".

Peter was very involved in the life of his church and was considering becoming a priest.
