50 years ago he stole a crucifix from a school, returned it, the letter of apology

It had been 50 years since a Crucifixo, which was located in the teachers room of the Federal Institute of Espirito Santo (IFES), a Victoryin Brazil, had disappeared without anyone having any idea what had happened.

The sacred object, however, reappeared on January 4, 2019, when it was returned at the school entrance along with a letter explaining the reason for the removal, with apologies attached.

The author of the removed Crucifix was a former student who chose to remain anonymous. Even though many years have passed, the item was delivered in perfect condition. In the letter, which was near the cross, the author of the theft claimed to be "repentant and ashamed".

According to the Director General of IFES, Hudson Luiz Cogo, the person who left the crucifix at the entrance did not show up “but we read the letter and we realized that the crucifix is intact, this person took care of it with love. It was a noble attitude on his part because we need to exalt this kind of behavior and encourage repentance, ”the principal said.

The headmaster then had to choose another place to place the Crucifix because the room where it was located half a century ago no longer exists.

The letter was published on social media and went viral, showing the regret of the student who must now be elderly.

“At a certain point, in the second half of September 1969, while I was leaving this school, only out of malice, I took this Crucifix from the staff room as a souvenir. Sometimes I had the intention of returning it but it didn't happen through negligence. Today, however, I decided that I should have made this decision also in anonymity, as in anonymity I acted so that this crucifix would return to its appropriate place. I apologize for the deplorable act. A former student ". Source: ChurchPop.com.
